The Master’s Programme in Special Education and Inclusion is offered by the Department of Educational Sciences and Social Work of the University of Patras. The programme is designed for graduates who wish to specialize in special education, inclusive practices, disability support, and sign language studies.

Specializations
The programme offers three specialized study pathways:
Special Education and Inclusive School
This specialization focuses on inclusive education, differentiated instruction, universal design for learning, and the development of educational environments that support the participation of all learners.
Students develop competencies in educational assessment, curriculum adaptation, intervention planning, and classroom inclusion practices.
Education of Deaf Students
This specialization focuses on the education of deaf and hard-of-hearing learners, the use of sign language, and the creation of accessible learning environments.
Students gain knowledge and practical skills related to communication, educational support, and inclusive practices for deaf individuals.
Prerequisite: Knowledge of Greek Sign Language.
Sign Language Interpretation
This specialization provides professional training in sign language interpretation and intercultural communication.
Students develop advanced interpreting skills and learn how to facilitate communication in educational, social, and professional environments.
Prerequisite: Advanced knowledge of Greek Sign Language.
The three specializations address contemporary educational and social needs and provide graduates with expertise in areas of growing professional demand.
Admission
Applications are open to graduates of Higher Education Institutions in Greece and abroad, in accordance with the relevant legislation and academic regulations.
The selection process is based on academic and professional criteria, including:

The programme welcomes applicants from a wide range of disciplines, including education, social sciences, humanities, health sciences, and related fields.
For the specializations Education of Deaf Students and Sign Language Interpretation, documented knowledge of Greek Sign Language is required.
Studies
The programme has a duration of three academic semesters and corresponds to 90 ECTS credits.

- In a single payment upon registration, or
